This flag pole is one of the later additions to a small veteran's park located along 40th Street between Broad and West Chestnut Avenues.
Scott Douglas Edwards, 48 of Altoona passed away Thursday evening November 2, 2017 at UPMC Montefiore, Pittsburgh.
He was a 1987 graduate of Altoona Area High School.
Scott was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Persian Gulf War where he received the Purple Heart Medal after surviving a Scud missile attack.
