Coat of arms of Lt Col Thomas Gwillim, father of Elizabeth Posthuma Simcoe (nee Gwillim) in Wolford Chapel, Dunkeswell. (visit link)

He was husband to Elizabeth Gwillim (nee Spinkes).

Here the heraldry gets a little complicated, as the Steward line is 2 generations prior. Elizabeth Spinkes was daughter to Elmer Spinkes and Jemima Spinckes (nee Stuart) (visit link)

Thomas passed away in 1762, an officer in the army, attaining the rank of colonel a few years before his death. He served in Canada, one of the three Majors of Brigade of General Wolfe at Quebec. He died seven months before the birth of his daughter.
