This church bell is located in front of the First Baptist Church in Clayton, North Carolina. It is placed upon a brick pedestal with a granite slab. The bell has been painted black and the wheel to ring the clapper is on the left. The plaque at the base of the pedestal reads:

This Bell was believed to have
hung in the belfry of the 1885
frame church built on this site.
Later moved to the 1920 building,
it was rung 30 minutes before
the Sunday morning service and
at weddings until 1964.

Restored and placed here,
January 16, 2011, to commemorate the
bicentennial year of
First Baptist Church
Plaque donated by
Johnny and Donna Ellis
