Localisation
Édifiée « à cheval » sur Pino et Luri sur un piton rocheux à 564 m d'altitude, la tour ronde (en fait un donjon), est un remarquable belvédère offrant la vue sur les mers Ligure et Tyrrhénienne. Elle est accessible depuis le col de Sainte-Lucie (381 m) par une petite route menant jusqu'à l'ancien couvent Saint-Nicolas (désaffecté, celui-ci a été transformé de nos jours en gîtes sous la dénomination « Les Gîtes Sénèque »). De l'aire de stationnement, un sentier permet d'accéder à la tour, à travers un haut maquis.
Historique
La Torre di Seneca, dotée de citerne, a été construite à l'emplacement d'une tour plus ancienne que les Romains auraient construite comme poste de surveillance.
De 1556 à 1559, les Français prennent la tour et enlèvent Luri aux Génois.
L'édifice est classé au titre des monuments historiques en 1840.

Built "astride" Pino and Luri on a rocky outcrop at an altitude of 564 m, the round tower (in fact a keep), is a remarkable viewpoint offering a view of the Ligurian and Tyrrhenian seas. It can be reached from the Saint Lucia pass (381 m) by a small road leading to the old Saint Nicholas convent (now disused, it has been transformed into a guesthouse under the name "Les Gîtes Sénèque"). From the parking area, a path leads to the tower, through a high scrubland.
History
The Torre di Seneca, with its cistern, was built on the site of an older tower that the Romans would have built as a watchtower.
From 1556 to 1559, the French took the tower and took Luri from the Genoese.
The building was classified as a historical monument in 1840.
