"The town of Cudillero is located in a deep longitudinal ravine excavated by the Piñera river in its last kilometer of travel before flowing into the Cantabrian river. This river describes some meanders among which the end stands out, which describes an almost complete circle turning from the South towards the East first and towards the Northwest later, piercing the base of the Mount of the Watchtower and giving rise to the so-called Amphitheater, residence area of the pixuetos or fishermen. In this area, the farmhouse is arranged on a natural grandstand, following the contour lines and leaning on steep slopes. The urban plan of this area was already practically defined in the 19th century. The access road to Cudillero, historically known as the Cai (current Suárez Inclán and García de la Concha streets), also presents a stepped building, although not as developed in altitude as in the Amphitheater. The transit between both spaces is defined by a series of small squares connected to each other, where the market is held and the main public spaces are located."
