"The fish pass (also called fish ladder) is a 400 meter long channel that runs around the weir and consists of basins 10 meters wide and at least 10 meters long. The height difference between the basins is 16 centimeters. This allows fish such as salmon to reach the opening about 3½ meters higher on the other side of the weir."
