The cannon has been restored minus a mounted wheel and place near an opening in split rail fence at the Paoli Battlefield. I can't find any documentation of this cannon but I believe it to be a British 6 Pound Field Gun.
Heeding intelligence reports and hearing the sounds of skirmishes of his picket posts General Wayne ordered his cannons and supply train to evacuate his encampment to avoid capture. The retreat was hindered by a farmers fence which had a narrow gate. The cannon lost a wheel at the gate opening causing a blockage of the gate. The British showed no mercy killing the American Troops.
