The small village of Daviot is situated in Aberdeenshire, five miles north of the town of Inverurie, and fifteen miles north-west of the city of Aberdeen. After the graveyard in the village's parish church became full, a new site was opened in countryside to the north at Loanhead.
The nearly square site is lined on all four sides by a tall hedge, with a small entrance via a gate towards the south-west corner. The oldest headstone dates from 1947.
The cemetery lies on the eastern side of a minor road that heads north from the village, just beyond the Loanhead of Daviot Stone Circle.
