[EN] Drawing made on September 30, 2021. Made at the coordinates of the Waymark, north orientation. Layout penciled on site and finalized at my home. A4 format, HB pencil.
The Luynes valey is characterized by its limestone tufa cliffs, carved out by the Loire a few tens of thousands of years ago. The village of Luynes was built over the centuries in the shadow of the castle, located on a rocky outcrop. Until the Middle Ages, almost all the dwellings were troglodyte.
The center of Luynes includes many bourgeois residences from the 15th to the 19th century. These houses are built in white tufa stone from Touraine, and some are half-timbered and brick-built.
I chose this location to make this drawing to show the perspective of the town houses dominated by the castle.
