[FR] "La Borne à Livres" est située Place du 11 Novembre 1918, le long de la Rue Eugène Goüin, face à l'Hôtel de Ville de Fondettes (FRA).

La cabine fut offerte à la ville de Fondettes par la ville allemande de Naurod Wiesbaden. Ce cadeau fut fait en 1995 pour célébrer les 20 ans du jumelage des deux cités. Une plaque est fixée à côté de la cabine pour rappeler ce cadeau, sur laquelle les blasons des deux villes sont représentés.

Cette ancienne cabine fut réaménagée en 2015 pour permettre l'échange libre de livres.

Les armoiries de Naurod Wiesbaden datent de 1954. Elles représentent le symbole du Saint-Laurent, une grille, le saint patron de la ville. Le plus ancien sceau connu de Naurod date de 1671 et représente le saint patron tenant la grille. Dans les bras, la grille est associée à deux axes, symbole de la partie -Rod du nom, dérivé du mot Roden, ou clairière de forêt. Les couleurs sont celles de l'État de Nassau, auquel la commune appartenait jusqu'en 1803.

[EN] "La Borne à Livres" is located Place du 11 Novembre 1918, along the Rue Eugène Goüin, in front of the Town Hall of Fondettes (FRA).

The cabin was donated to the town of Fondettes by the German town of Naurod Wiesbaden. This gift was made in 1995 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the twinning of the two cities. A plaque is fixed next to the cabin to recall this gift, on which the coats of arms of the two cities are represented.

This old cabin was refitted in 2015 to allow the free exchange of books.

The arms of Naurod Wiesbaden date from 1954. They show the symbol of St. Lawrence, a grill, the patron saint of the town. The oldest known seal of Naurod dates from 1671 and shows the patron saint, holding the grill. In the arms the grill is combined with two axes, symbol for the -Rod part of the name, which is derived from the word Roden, or clearing of forest. The colours are those of the State of Nassau, to which the town belonged until 1803.
