A Mesquite tree growing within the Shiloh Cemetery has a dedication stone placed at the base of this tree. The text engraved into this rectangular, polished granite marker reads as follows:
"In memory of a faithful
worker Luccus Coble
This was his Garden of Eden
Died April 23, 1984
We miss you"
A search of Google did not yield any information on Luccus Goble and he is not listed as being buried at this Shiloh Cemetery. From the context of the dedication plaque, he must have been a groundskeeper or a volunteer who helped maintain this cemetery.
The dedicated tree is the right-most mesquite tree in a line of four mesquite trees that grow to the left side of the pavilion near the main gate into the cemetery.
