Travelers are cheerfully greeted at the I-95 rest area with a multi-part structure on the west side of a round plaza near the north end of the parking lots. Two tall obelisks at the Visitors Center in Yulee support a "Florida Welcomes You" message, two miles south of the Georgia border.
The three-dimensional box sign consists of a gentle, gray-colored arc with the text centered and mounted to its front side. White lettering is against a blue background; a yellow sunburst takes the place of the "O" in the state's name. Those elements appear to be held up by a set of ten metal rods attached at decorative angles to the 15 foot tall obelisks. The pillars are identical: tapering square in form with a stylized palm leaf design on their capitals.
The site is easily accessible and intended as a photo opportunity for visitors.
