Reconstruída en 1550 polo mestre de obra Juan de Bergantiños e derrubada en 1872 dentro da política dos ensanches, a Porta da Vila, acceso principal ao recinto amurallado, estaba coroada por torreóns ameados e polos escudos de Galicia, Castela e da propia cidade, hoxe integrados no muro dunha vivenda privada.
