The town of Turriff lies some thirty miles north of the city of Aberdeen in north-east Scotland. A nine hole golf course was laid out to the west of the town at Rosehall in 1896 and remained so until 1976 when it was extended to the eighteen holes of today.
The course occupies ground to the south of the River Deveron and is lined with a variety of trees. The higher ground lies to the south, and includes the holes in the middle of the front nine, and beginning of the back nine. Both opening and closing holes are situated north of the clubhouse on the lower valley floor. The ninth hole arrives back at the clubhouse, with the back nine, which was the land of the original nine holes, occupying the land to the east, nearer the town.
The course is a par 70 of just under 6,000 yards, with two par fives, and four short holes, three of them on the back nine.
The club lies on the B9024 road west of the town. A driveway leads northwards and crosses part of the course to reach the centrally located clubhouse.
