This windmill was built in 1848 in Denmark. It was no longer in use at the time that it was purchased from a private owner. It was dismantled and moved to Elk Horn, Iowa where it was reassembled and put on display. Although operational, it is rarely operated. A gift shop is located in an extended addition to the wind mill.
The gift shop is open Mon-Sat 9-5, Sunday 12-7.
