The Vättern Aquarium is the largest and most visited Aquarium in the region. It is open Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
There are a total of 15 aquariums. The 7 of them contain fish from Asia and Africa. The last 8 aquariums contain fish from Vättern, which is the second largest lake in Sweden and where there are 31 different fish species.

The Vättern Aquarium is in the former Toll House by the Göta Canal.
The building was originally from 1860 where there was a distillery in the house. Only in the period from 1921 - 1973 was the house used as a Toll House.
After 1973, the buildings were converted into a fire truck museum, but since 2009, the Vättern aquarium has been in the buildings.
