"The bridging consists of two riveted truss bridges next to each other. Each bridge has four spans of 62 meters, resulting in a length of 248 meters.
History
In 1879 the single-track bridge over the Maas at Buggenum was completed, consisting of four iron lattice bridges, each with a span of 65 metres. In 1916, the bridge was made double-track by building four steel truss bridges next to the existing bridges. In 1922, the wrought iron bridges under construction were replaced by steel bridges, of the same type as those of 1916. In 1940, two spans of each track were destroyed, and provisional repairs followed in 1941. In 1944 all spans were blown up. After a provisional repair, all bridges were definitively restored around 1948."
