The earth globe appears to be made out of concrete. It measures about 3 feet in diameter and features a star at the north pole, indicating where Peary discovered the north pole. Photos taken on 10 September 2021. The globe has relief portions of all the continents and is angled with the north star actually facing north. The star is a small bronze five sided star, about an inch wide. Three horizontal lines mark the tropics and equator. The globe stands on four bronze footings, which secure it in place.
