The Saracen's Head, Shirley, is said to date back to 1791 and is largely unaltered in layout. The name commemorates the service of the local landowners, the Shirley family, in The Crusades.

The sign has a dark background with two crossed scimitar swords (visit link) overlaid on what looks to be a blue and gold circular shield of a Saracen.
