[DE] In der Beckenmitte auf einer rechteckigen Säule steht der Meeresgott Neptun aus Sandstein, mit Delphin und Dreizack. 1755 wurde die Brunnenanlage von Johann Gabriel Räntz geschaffen.
[EN] In the centre of the basin, on a rectangular column, stands the sea god Neptune made of sandstone, with dolphin and trident. The fountain was created by Johann Gabriel Räntz in 1755.
Neptune is the god of freshwater and the sea in Roman religion. He is the counterpart of the Greek god Poseidon. In the Greek-influenced tradition, Neptune is the brother of Jupiter and Pluto; the brothers preside over the realms of Heaven, the earthly world, and the Underworld. Salacia is his wife.
