Long Description:
The first inscription to John McNeil (Sr.) is from an anonymous song, "When Shall We All Meet Again," published in 1808. The entire lyrics may be found at (visit link) . The small verse reads:

Mourn not for me,
I still live,
Where immortal spirits
reign.

The second may possibly be from a well loved poem of the time. I cannot find a specific reference. It reads:

Husband grieve no more for me,
My trouble and pains are over,
In Heaven my soul awaits to join
Yours on that celestial shore.
