I am a youth services librarian and a writer of children's books. I recently moved to a new home in Flower Mound and I wanted to share my love of books and reading with my neighborhood. The photo is a picture of my book club that meets at my house once a month. The library has been very popular in my neighborhood. I can watch neighbors selecting books from my dining room window. Many of my neighbors leaves boxes of book donations on my front porch. I am so glad I installed a Little Free Libr[ary.]
Please be careful to not block the narrow street here: There's room to pull into the median, pay your visit, and move on, all while traffic can get around you at the posted 20 mph speed limit.
The Little Free Library itself is mounted on a metal post, and it's made of wood whose reddish-brown stain could use a touchup. It has a monopitched roof with real shingles, and a "Little Free Library Original" medallion is on one side, noting this as a kit. The Little Free Library plaque is attached to the top of the door, and the wooden door latch is in good condition.
