Der Auftrag zum Kreuzknoten kam von der Sparkasse, der Architekt des Sparkassengebäudes wollte eine Senkrechte als Kontrast zu in der Gebäudefassade vorherrschenden waagrechten Linien haben. Der Knoten ist ca. 5 m hoch und aus Granit gefertigt.

The order for the square knot came from the Sparkasse, the architect of the Sparkasse building wanted a vertical line as a contrast to the horizontal lines prevailing in the building facade. The knot is approx. 5 m high and made of granite.
