According to the Dutch National Monument Register:
"The double shop with upper house is located in the closed street wall of the Neerstraat in Roermond. The building was built in 19th century, the facade was renewed in 1911 in Eclecticism with Jugendstil elements, commissioned by the plumbing company Frans Janssens Höppener, after a design by architect F. Dupont from Roermond. The building now has various shades of blue, but was originally finished in a soft sand color. The relief in the facade is by sculptor Mathieu Reynders, made in the workshop of Cuypers en Stolzenberg. At the rear of the building is a back house with staggered floors. The ground floor is currently used as a pet store and antiques store."
