"The first world peace flame in the Netherlands was placed on April 18, 2002 next to the entrance gates of the Peace Palace. A special monument has been erected there with an ever-burning flame. On the monument is the text: "May all beings find peace". Since 2004, the monument has been surrounded by the "World Peace Path" along a rim of 196 stones and pebbles from 196 countries. Some of the stones are special: there is a chunk of stone from the Berlin Wall and a stone from Robben Island, the place where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for years."
