This cannon is located at a war memorial in front of the courthouse in Emporia, Virginia. There is parking at curbside. There is a plaque in front of the cannon which reads:
THIS GUN IS A MEMORIAL TO THE VETERANS OF THE 1914-1918 WORLD WAR I
A CAPTURED IMPERIAL GERMAN ARMY 150 MM FIELD ARTILLARY CANNON MANUFACTURED BY KKUPP WORKS IN 1917
MANY THOUSANDS OF AMERICANS AND ALLIED YOUNG MEN GAVE THEIR LIVES IN FRANCE TO ENEMY FIRE FROM WEAPONS LIKE THIS TO MAKE THE WORLD SAFE FOR DEMOCRACY
PLACED HERE BY LOCAL VETERANS OF BULLA POST 46 AMERICAN LEGION IN 1925
ON PERMANENT LOAN BY U.S. ARMY IT IS ONE OF 8 ALLOCATED AS MEMORIALS TO THESE BRAVE SOLDIERS AND VETERANS
