ENG:

from rhcrijnstreek.nl:
"There was already a primary school in Papekop at the beginning of the 19th century, which has been rebuilt and rebuilt several times." However, there was always a small number of students and therefore the school had to be stopped periodically and the children were then taught in Oudewater. The current building dates from 1914.

"From that time on, the school seems to have deteriorated rapidly. In 1922 the number of pupils had fallen to 4 and it was decided that the public school would now really be abolished. The school was transferred on loan to the 'Association for the foundation and preserving schools with the Bible." From then on the 4 pupils of the public school went to school in Oudewater. A year later the association took over the ownership of the school. The teacher's house remained in the possession of the municipality. In 1929, a renovation and extension of the school building took place, for the time being the last.

Almost ten years later, the Christian primary school was in danger of being closed again due to financial problems. The government subsidy for the school would be abolished. Because it did not disappear in the end, the school could continue to exist. In the end, the School with the Bible "Eliezer" survived until 1995."
