"The parish of Covas keeps a beautiful place created by nature itself, Cape Prior, formed by a 1.75 km wide spit of land that juts out into the sea. The altitude of the isthmus rises progressively until reaching 171 meters at the end of the cape (from where it drops sharply towards the sea) and there is located a lighthouse that has been active since 1853. In this same place, until a few years ago there was a military detachment of which today only its infrastructures remain.
It is worth highlighting the splendid landscape that can be seen from this point.
The military infrastructures are abandoned and deteriorated, reason why it is necessary to take precautions."
