About the building - Educatorium
"The Educatorium is an educational building of Utrecht University, mainly designed by Rem Koolhaas of the architectural firm OMA.
In 1986, OMA drew up the urban development plan for the university campus of Utrecht University on the Uithof. Each building was assigned a different architect and OMA was allowed to design the Educatorium. The building is intended as a general reception area and connection between the Willem C. van Unnik building and the Marinus Ruppert building
For the construction, ABT was appointed as constructor - with Rob Nijsse as project leader - and BAM as contractor. Construction started in 1992, the completion was in 1995. It took until 1997 before the building actually opened to the public
