English: Sønderborg Castle's fortifications - bastions and moat - are preserved parts of the fortifications that were supposed to protect the castle in the Middle Ages.

The facility is located on a point in Alssund and is bounded to the north, west and south by the coast and to the east by Strandvejen. The entire plant measures from west to east and from north to south approx. 180 x 180 meters. In the middle of the decoration is the listed Sønderborg Castle.

The conservation boundary runs along the water's edge and along the curb on the west side of Strandvejen from 35 m north of the northern bastion to the end of the park, where Strandvejen runs along the beach to the south. In the northeast corner of the facility lies the northern bastion, which is an exposed ruin. In the southeast corner is the southern bastion, which is a ground-covered ruin. The two bastions are connected by a drained tomb and a rampart. The grave is 135 m long, approx. 10 m wide and 2 m deep. The rampart is 135 m long, approx. 14 m wide. Between the rampart and the grave is a wall that is approx. 1 m high and extends 80 m to the south from the northern bastion. From the southern bastion extends an approx. 2 m high wall approx. 90 m to the west, where it makes an almost perpendicular turn to the beach.
