In 1909, the meeting place of the Slovak Society of St. Mary's Church was destroyed by fire. Subsequently, they purchased the parcel of land on State Street to build their own church. Construction of the resulting St. Peter's Church was completed in 1916. The church is now part of St. Peter's and St. Casimir Parish which was established in 2003. MACRIS: (

The symmetrical façade of the brick St. Peter's Church is three bays wide. The central part protrudes from the main block and contains a set of steps leading up to a double door entrance. Above the entrance is a gable roof with a cross, a large triple window, a set of three lancet window, a belfry with double openings, and a conical steeple with a gold cross rising from in the center of crenelated tower. Flanking the central section are a double window on the lower level and a single lancet window on the upper level.
The sides of the church are five bays wide before the two bay wide transept. The first bay contains and auxiliary entrance and the next four bays have two story high Gothic style windows framed by brick Gothic arches.
