This Welcome Center is located on the eastbound side of I-10, just past the Sabine River and the Texas border. Brochures from places across the state fill the racks -- they're divided by region. The staff is helpful, always offering free coffee, maps and answers.
The center is located in a rest area, so restrooms are available, as well as picnic areas with covered tables and grills set on a nice lake. At the southeast corner is a short, quarter-mile roundtrip boardwalk that loops through Nature's Nest Swamp along the edge of the lake. This is a good introduction to the swamps of Louisiana.
