"Contemporary version of the Sabine Maiden Robbery by Giambologna designed for the reconstructed castle garden at Castle Assumburg. A sculpture was depicted on copper graves by De Leth, on the basis of which the garden was reconstructed. This would have been a copy of the statue by the Italian artist Giambologna, the original of which is in Florence.

The human figures have made way for three intertwined female figures in the form of mannequins, with classical heads. As an ode to the garden, the figures hand us a pear branch, a small person and a bird. The statue was placed in the garden in 2012."
