The Possum Holler School House, now on display at the Canadian County Historical Society, was once about twenty miles west of here - in El Reno, Oklahoma.

The Possum Holler School (c. 1900) was located about 20 miles west of El Reno near the South Canadian River. The original school building was a log cabin. It burned down in 1910 and the present schoolhouse was built on the same location. The one-room school served all grades. The schoolhouse was moved to the museum grounds and restored in 1976.
