Dogwood Quilt Block
This quilt block is displayed in memory of Maurice and Marie (Fuchs) Landwehr. Marie learned to quilt from her mother when she was a young girl. Her passion for quilts kept her busy quilting at home and also with "The Quilters" at St. John's UCC, Bem. The Dogwood appliqué was Marie's favorite design. Each of her children and grandchildren have quilts she created just for them, so her legacy lives on. They would like to share this quilt block in memory of their parents and grandparents.

"Born in Bem on March 20, 1929 to the late George A. and Flora (Stock) Landwehr.

On April 1, 1950 at St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Owensville he was united in marriage to Marie M. Fuchs.

He served his country with the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of the Owensville Masonic Lodge #624 and St. John's United Church of Christ in Bem.
