An information board at All Saints' church, Bradley. It reads:
Church of All Saints
Dating back to 1370-80 and largely unchanged from when it was
first built, except for the loss of its bell-tower which was struck
by lightning. All Saints church is one of the oldest in Derbyshire.
It is the third church on this site and is a typical example of a small
mediaeval country church, a single aisle with no separate chancel
and just large enough to hold the entire population of the village
standing up.
It is in the Early English style but contains several items from the
earlier churches - the simple but beautiful font, a number of
carvings and the priest's door on the south side of the aisle.
The second manor house stood on the flat area immediately to the
north of the church. It was demolished around 1790 when the
building of Bradley Hall began.
