This monument may have been down on its back at one point, as the wear and tear looks as if done by heavy rain. The family name, "Emmons", is on the plinth, while the inscription reads:

G.C. Emmons

Born
Mar. 8, 1869

Died
Mar. 1, 1908

---

Not lost, blest thought
But gone before,
Where we shall meet
To part no more.
Was the inscription legible?: Yes
