Created by the Dawson Creek Beautification Committee, Peace Park's Official Dedication Ceremony took place on September 21, 1993.

Dedicated to World Peace, the date of dedication of the park was not chosen randomly, as September 21 happens to be the United Nations International Day of Peace.

1.26 hectares in size the park offers benches, picnic tables, Dawson Trail, a walking/hiking/biking/skiing trail which Connects to The Great Trail, AKA Trans Canada Trail, native trees surrounding grassed open space.

One of several parks which follow Dawson Creek through the city of Dawson Creek, the park is bordered by 10th Street on the northwest, 107th Avenue on the north and Dawson Creek on the south and east. The centrepiece of the park is the Human Sundial, which is listed in the North American Sundial Society Registry. The sundial is unique in that it uses the human observer as the sundial's gnomon.

Peace Park is a memorial park destination surrounded by green space located in the Peace River Country community of Dawson Creek, British Columbia, Canada. The park is one of many found along the popular community walking path known as Dawson Trail. A trail that connects the community to the many recreation destinations in the region.

Peace Park is a place of reflection for some as it is a memorial park. For others, the flutter of the three flags and the rumblings of the creek is what draws them to the sitting benches in the park. For some, the picnic tables and rainbow colors of the flower gardens draws them to the area for lunch.

The park centres around three flags and a memorial monument. The well maintained walking paths leaving from the park lead to the downtown stores in Dawson Creek or to other parks like Kin Park, Barbaree Park, Chamberlain Park and Rotary Park.

Just behind the park is the small meandering Dawson Creek. Nearby is a playground for children and some baseball fields and tennis courts for the grown ups. The best access to the park is by walking the Dawson Trail from downtown. One can drive to the park located on 107 Avenue.
