We will assume the "Then" photo here to be from 1947-48, from the text below the photo. Notice the Art Deco tower and pilasters, the tower hovering over the entrance and the pilasters framing the main entrance. Sadly, later fashion supplanted Art Deco, replacing it with essentially nothing and they are long gone.
In 1946, Helen Billingsley and Wilna Moore received a license for a 1,000 watt station on a frequency of 1350 kHz at Dawson Creek which later would be known a "Pure Country".
CJDC officially went on the air December 15, 1947.
It was not until 2019 that CJDC changed from CJDC to Pure Country 890.
"CJDC is a Canadian radio station, broadcasting at 890 AM in Dawson Creek, British Columbia. The station, owned by Bell Media, airs a country format. CJDC broadcasts with a power of 10,000 watts day and night and uses a non-directional antenna daytime, and a two-tower directional antenna nighttime".
The station adopted its current frequency of 890 AM in 1986,[1] and added a rebroadcaster on 92.7 FM at Tumbler Ridge in 1988 with the callsign CJDC-1-FM
