The developer, Esperanza Leiras y López, ordered its construction in 1886. The property has two very characteristic elements of Indian architecture: the porch, which advances and protects the main entrance (very common in Indian houses), and the gurugú or viewpoint glass that crowns the roof and which many Ribadenses merchants of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries became fond of.
