De spoorlijn werd geopend tussen 1886 en 1890. Met deze spoorverbinding werd voornamelijk leer en aanverwante artikelen van en naar de Langstraat vervoerd. Lage Zwaluwe fungeerde als overlaadpunt voor scheepvaart naar Rotterdam. Op het talud tussen Raamsdonksveer en 's-Hertogenbosch ligt thans een fietspad, het Halve Zolenpad genaamd."

Ik heb het waymark gecreeerd op de locatie van het voormalige station van Waspik. Dit is een goed startpunt voor wandelingen en fietstochten over het Halve Zolenpad.

"The Langstraat railway, also popularly known as the Halve Zolenlijn, was a railway from Lage Zwaluwe via Waalwijk to 's-Hertogenbosch. The nickname Halve Zolenlijn refers to the shoe industry.

The railway was opened between 1886 and 1890. This railway connection mainly transported leather and related articles to and from Langstraat. Lage Zwaluwe served as a transfer point for shipping to Rotterdam. There is now a cycle path on the slope between Raamsdonksveer and 's-Hertogenbosch, called the Halve Zolenpad."

I created the waymark at the location of the former station of Waspik. This is a good starting point for walks and bike rides on the Halve Zolenpad.
