It has been a long time since I have been watching a satellite, because in summer, two things happen: one, that the sky is better than in winter, but the satellites are later.
Well, July 17 was a day chosen to see one at almost 11 p.m. E-mail to ISS colleague Alfouine, who accepted.
In A Valenzá, point 1 it started to see the ISS from SW at about 22:55:16 (10:55 p.m.). It will travel from SW to the NE, and reach the highest point of 57° at 22:58:36. It will travel towards the SW to NE and you will lose sight of it about 23:01:57 just above the horizon (10º). Magnitude -3.
The point 2 was in Tours, France. The begining was at 22:57:18; Highest part of pass: 23:00:41 with high 82°; The end was at 23:04:04; -3.7 magnitude. Alfouine saw it too and took some photos
It has a magnitude of -3 which is bright! It will look like a bright star, moving across the night sky, taking less than 6 minutes to go across the sky, above the highway and lost in the buildings. I could see all time from the beginning to the end, and I took a lot of photos. I had a confusion because I took a wrong look at the satellite chart and I thought it was 77, but it was 57. From 77 it was at 4 a.m.
Thanks for the partner Alfouine.
The ISS took 2 minutes and 5 seconds, covering around 880 km.
