Eli Harvey (1860-1957)
Bronze, 1905

One of America's earliest animaliers, Eli Harvey began his art career using pastels and paint to capture the natural world around him. After winning a gold medal for a pastel in the Paris-Province Exhibition of 1900, Harvey devoted himself to sculpture. The majority of his work was produced during the early 20th century out of his New York City studio. Adonis, an alert, eight-month-old greyhound, is positioned on his haunches looking ahead.
Breed: Greyhound

Date Built: 1/1/1905
