The 150th anniversary of Canada, also known as the 150th anniversary of Confederation and promoted by the Canadian government as Canada 150, occurred in 2017 as Canada marked the sesquicentennial of Canadian Confederation.

150th Anniversary of Canada was a year long celebration with communities throughout Canada creating projects and placing commemorations from coast to coast.

"The year was filled with activities that focused on engaging and inspiring youth; celebrating our diversity and encouraging inclusion; establishing a spirit of reconciliation with Indigenous peoples; and discovering Canada’s natural beauty and strengthening environmental awareness."

Clinton is in the South Cariboo region of beautiful British Columbia. It has approximately 650 residents in this small rural community. Clinton is home to one of Canada's oldest continual events, the "Annual Ball" which was first held in 1867.

Clinton has an interesting museum housed in an old school house. In the front are two old mill stones from Deep Creek Mill. There are several of the original ranches that are still operational today.

"In 1920, the citizens of Clinton built the Memorial Hall, a tribute to Clinton area residents who did not return from the Great War. The hall, built by volunteers, has a spring floor, made of maple hardwood, one of the few in Canada. It is said that the floor rises up to meet the happy feet of dancing couples.

The Hall boasts a large dance floor, stage, green room, sound and lighting system, catering kitchen and bar facility. The kitchen is equipped with 2 natural gas convection stoves, commercial dishwasher, fridges, and enough dishes and cutlery to cater an event seating 180 guests.

The Memorial Hall is the ideal venue for weddings, fundraisers, dinner and dances, auctions, concerts, plays and can also accommodate small to medium sized conferences. Gallery style seating capacity is 236."
