The information board has a map of the route the Zeppelin took and where the bombs were dropped and the following information about the air raid.
GOOLE ZEPPELIN AIR RAID VICTIMS' MEMORIAL

On the night of the 9th August 1915 the German Zeppelin 19 flew over the town of Goole after losing its way in fog over the East Court. In just over 5 minutes approximately 60 high explosive and incendiary bombs were dropped causing much damage to the town and the loss of 17 lives. 16 of the victims, Goole people, were buried in a mass grave in Goole cemetery, during a public service on the 13th August. Their grave remained unmarked until the Goole War Memorial Committee raised funds by public subscription to erect a Memorial on the grave, which was unveiled in February 1922. The 17th victim, a friend of the Acasters remains unknown. In 2015 the victims memorial was restored and re-dedicated to mark the centenary of the air raid.
