This is a sample of espigueiros, which are elevated constructions in which grani, flour, ham, sausages were stored ... The reason for being elevated is that this way the rodents climbed by the feet and when they reached the top and turned upside down, they fell. The "espigueiros" in Portugal, "hórreos" in Galicia, etc. are examples of Atlantic constructions, there are in countries of this ocean or of Celtic traditions.
