The arch stands behind and between the replica of the church's first building and the last one, which does not appear to be in use anymore. It's as good a gateway arch as any, made of steel and bearing the name "Pilgrim" and "Est 1833". That "1833" refers to the establishment of the Pilgrim Predestinarian Regular Baptist Church in Illinois by the Reverend Daniel Parker, who is buried here. The members of the church arrived here in late 1833, and built a log church in 1848. The first burial in the cemetery took place in 1843, and was that of Rachel (Parker) Bennett, the reverend's daughter who married Miles Bennett, a soldier in the Army of the Republic of Texas.
