The parish of Kinneff covers a rural area on the east coast of Scotland between the towns of Inverbervie and Stonehaven in the southern part of Aberdeenshire (formerly Kincardineshire).

A church was built here in 1242 and became famous for housing the Scottish Crown Jewels from 1651 to 1660 during the English Civil War after being rescued from Dunnottar Castle up the coast. The church was rebuilt in 1737 and extended in 1876. It fell out of use during the 1970s but has since been restored by the Kinneff Old Church Preservation Group and is open to the public all year round from 9.00am to 6.00pm.

The cemetery surrounding the church has been here since the original building with many old stones, most unreadable, in the vicinity to the southern part of the graveyard. A newer section, still in use, lies to the north.
