An Industrial Brownhoist 250 ton wrecker which was originally steam powered but later converted to diesel by the NYC.

This Brownhoist derrick is sitting along side of the Norfolk Southern mainline near the Altoona station. The spur line is for the Altoona Railroaders Memorial Museum who has plans to restore the wrecker crane.
Numbering history, it was: originally New York Central X-16 ,Penn Central 50209,then 45215.
The 12th street foot bridge offers a good vantage point to view the cars along the siding.

Update 2/5/2023, Unfortunately this crane and tender were both cut apart and scrapped. I believe that the trucks were salvaged
