The church was created in 1636. It has a Latin cross shape with a single nave and several side chapels (Santa Quitéria, Santa Ana, Santíssimo Sacramento, Nossa Senhora do Rosário, Nossa Senhora de Soledade and Nossa Senhora da Saúde).
The main chapel has its walls decorated with Portuguese blue tiles and features a beautiful golden carved altarpiece. Note the sacrarium and the throne, shaped in the same material.
It's located in a central location, on the upper section of the main boulevard of the town.
